James Larson III, MD
Dr. James Larson is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon, with specialization in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery. He treats many people who sustain injuries while trying to stay fit and healthy. It’s his goal to return those people to full function as soon as possible. He believes the problems associated with a sedentary lifestyle are far worse than injuries that occur during an active life. After having surgery on his own knee, he went back to active participation in HIIT and functional fitness workouts. He’s seen first-hand the power of functional fitness programs on health and well-being.
After encountering many myths about popular high-intensity exercise programs he started LSO and The Box Doc program. He wants to bring the science of orthopedics to HIIT programs and functional fitness gyms. As an active participant in these fitness programs, he has a unique capacity to understand the ways people can get injured by participating in them. In order to understand these programs better, he did obtain a level 1 certificate. By observing and participating in WOD-style fitness programs, he is able to identify common patterns that lead to injury.
Now he wants to use all this knowledge to teach you: coaches, affiliate and gym owners, and athletes. He has developed this program to help coaches and gym owners continue their education. He wants to provide the information you need to be the best athlete and coach possible.
